Emma and Robbie

I was contacted by Emma and Robbie about photographing their wedding in the summer, we ended up having a
Skype call due to the fact they live in Vienna. I was surprised to get an inquiry for such a distance but soon learned that the
couple originally from Chester and were getting married in the UK to be closer to their family.
We connected well over skype and the couple booked an engagement shoot with the wedding.

The Engagement Shoot

I arranged to meet Emma and Robbie with their three children Kyan, Peyton and Raven in Didsbury Fletcher Moss park while
they were over in the UK visiting family and organising the wedding.
After a quick hello we got right into the shoot, walking around Fletcher Moss encouraging the family to have fun and interact
with each other. These guys were lots of fun, warm and engaging to work with and made my job so easy. The kids seemed to find
it hilarious that I had the same name as their dad!
We finished the engagement shoot with a meeting where they told me more about their wedding plans in the summer. The venue
for the wedding they told me was Mottram Hall, having never worked there but only hearing good things from other
photographers I was looking forward to seeing the venue.

Mottram Hall

The beautiful Grade II listed Georgian Manor house was established in 1721 is one of Cheshire’s finest hotels. The venue is a
hotel and wedding venue but also has an 18 golf course and even boasts a FIFA accredited football pitch.
As always when I haven’t worked at a venue before I take some time to go and visit and plan my day thoroughly and speak to the
venues staff. The building was fantastic with lots of character plus lots of big windows with great light. The landscaped gardens

were also very interesting with lots of scope to take creative photos, I was told that they may hold the ceremony out in the
gardens, but this is weather dependent.

The Morning of the Wedding

The wedding day finally arrived and it was a nice summers day with a possibility of rain, the venue changed the ceremony to
inside instead of the garden.
Both Emma and Robbie getting ready in the hotel, Robbie in one room with his old friends from the UK with six best men! The
idea was that they all together made up the perfect best man.
Emma was getting ready with her mum and the girls so that’s where I started. The room was a hive of activity with the girls
getting ready I started to document the morning everyone was too busy to notice me taking photos.
After a while I left and found Robbie’s room, the guys were busy watching youtube videos of how to properly fold a pocket
square for the suits. We managed a few shots outside with the guys and then guests started to arrive.

The Ceremony

I arrived back at Emma’s room to photograph the final getting ready shots. Emma was looking stunning in her dress and the
bridesmaids were helping her with the final touches.
The ceremony was about to begin and looked fantastic with the decorations that Mottram Hall staff had created.
After Emma and Robbie were married in a lovely service we all went outside for photos on the lawn, I took the couple to the
landscaped gardens for the couple shots. Rob wanted a photo in front of a particular tree so I duly obliged. There was some
dramatic photos to be had with all the tall trees in the background.
Everyone was out on the lawn enjoying the sunshine, playing games and having fun when we had finished. The meal started
then it was time for the speeches and the evening where the fun and dancing carried on until late.

Congratulations Emma and Robbie!
